Belinda Micallef has been an Occupational Therapist for over 15 years, graduating in 2007 from Deakin University in Victoria. Over the years Belinda has worked throughout a wide range of public and private settings to assist adults, adolescents and children. Although over the past 10 years Belinda has held a strong interest and has specialised in working with children and adolescents to build their capacity in learning, socialising, behaviours, movement and everyday living activities.

Belinda’s experience includes managing a diverse range of caseloads from school aged children up to teenagers including; Autism (Level 1 and 2), anxiety and mental health conditions, ADHD/ADD, neurocognitive conditions, developmental delay, intellectual disability and trauma backgrounds.

Being in the Barwon Region, Belinda has been working with the National Disability Insurance Scheme since the pilot program was first launched 2013 and has an in-depth understanding of NDIS funding and ways to best maximise individual plans and supports.

Belinda strives to work in partnership with individuals, families and their support team to assess and develop targeted interventions with the goal to increase each individuals’ participation and independence within their meaningful activities. Interventions are family and strength-based approaches with a strong focus towards enhanced emotional and behavioural regulation, motor development, increased attention and focus, improved social skills and promotion of mental health and overall life satisfaction.

Belinda has recently moved to the Sunshine Coast, QLD and will continuing to provide community based OT services.
